Scope and contact
Cirqle provides the Cirqle service. This policy concerns personal information associated with using its mobile applications and connected account, profile, lead and team features. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@cirqle.digital.
Our Website Privacy Policy separately covers public website visits, website cookies, card design drafts and physical card orders. This application policy does not replace that notice.
Account and profile information
Account information includes your name, email address and authentication identifiers used to recognise your account and provide access. Information needed to create and authenticate an account is required for account-based features. Optional profile content is distinct from account credentials.
A digital business profile can include your job title, company, telephone number, website, social links, profile picture, company logo and other content you choose to provide. Only add information you intend to share through the relevant profile. Optional content is used when you choose to supply it; individual features may need particular information to work.
Cards, leads and teams
Card activation and claiming associate a compatible Cirqle card identifier and claiming record with the relevant account or profile. These records support the connection between your physical card and your digital profile.
When you use lead-management features, information can include business contact details, notes and follow-up information that you or your contacts provide. Team features involve membership, roles, permissions and administrative records. The information involved depends on the features you use and your role.
Provide other people’s information only when you are entitled to do so. Explain how you intend to use their details and respect their privacy choices. A lead recorded in Cirqle and a contact saved in a device’s address book are different records.
How information supports the service
Account and authentication information supports registration, sign-in and account administration. Profile and card records support digital business profiles, card claiming and contact sharing through compatible NFC cards, QR codes and profile links.
Lead and team records support the lead management, follow-up and collaboration features available to your account. Information you send when requesting help is used to handle that request. Service communications concern your account or use of Cirqle; they are distinct from optional marketing messages.
Public profiles and team access
Information on a public profile is visible to people who open its link, scan its QR code or access it through a Cirqle card. Recipients may save or share information they receive. Removing information from Cirqle does not itself remove copies independently saved by recipients.
Team administrators and other authorised team members can access information available to their role through the team features. Do not assume that information entered in a shared team area is private to you. Ask your organisation about its own handling of business contact information and its responsibilities for that processing.
NFC and device access
Compatible NFC functionality supports reading Cirqle cards and card claiming where available on your device and app version. Reading an NFC card does not itself require access to your entire address book.
Device access and app data are different: allowing a device permission does not by itself explain whether information stays on the device or is sent to a server. Review the explanation shown with any permission request. You can review device permissions in your operating system’s settings; changing a permission can affect the feature that relies on it.
Usage information and technical records
Usage analytics concern interactions with the service; technical and diagnostic records concern its operation, errors and security. These are distinct from the profile or lead content you intentionally provide. Website measurement choices described in the Website Privacy Policy do not establish the mobile app’s measurement practices.
Service providers and international processing
Cirqle’s connected service uses Render for backend hosting and MongoDB Atlas for database infrastructure. Its customer web frontend is hosted on Vercel. Information made available to infrastructure providers depends on the part of the service they operate.
For information about the processing locations and transfer arrangements relevant to your account, contact info@cirqle.digital. A provider’s international presence does not by itself establish where a particular account’s data is stored.
Security and retention
Keep your account access details secure and do not send passwords or payment card details to our privacy contact. No online service or transmission method can guarantee complete security. Contact Cirqle if you suspect unauthorised access.
Account, profile, lead, team and technical records serve different purposes. To ask which records Cirqle holds about you, how long they are retained and what happens to them after an account or team is closed, use the privacy contact below. Removing the app from a device is not an account-deletion request.
Your information and privacy rights
You can contact info@cirqle.digital to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal information. You can also ask for help correcting profile information or exporting data; this does not imply that an automatic in-app export feature is available.
Where the GDPR applies, and subject to its conditions and exceptions, you have rights to access and correct personal data, request erasure or restriction, object to processing and receive portable data. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. These rights are not all unconditional.
You may complain to the relevant data protection authority, including the authority in the country where you live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred.
Request account deletion
To request deletion of your Cirqle account and associated personal information, email info@cirqle.digital, identifying the account email and stating that you want the account deleted. Do not include your password. This contact route is available without signing in or installing the app.
Explain if your request concerns information held in a team or a lead record rather than your own account. This helps identify the records and the organisation responsible for them. You can also ask about any information that must be retained and the reason for retaining it.
Intended audience
Cirqle is a professional networking and business-contact service. If you believe a child’s information has been provided inappropriately, contact info@cirqle.digital so the concern can be reviewed.
